location, location, room comfortable with nice chairs and settee.
in room 365 - dim lights - unable to read in bed - uncomfortable mattress
Very helpful, friendly staff and good, secure parking. (basement of building, roller shutter door controlled by Reception)
Breakfast/menu was simple, but well prepared. A cooked breakfast would be a great addition.
Staff were excellent - very friendly and welcoming Towels were a good size Lift worked well Town centre location Car parking at no extra cost
Shower not very good. Toilet seat (cheap and plasticky) broke. Too little room in breakfast room and too little breakfast! Outrageous price for Saturday night in the quality of hotel it was. To be fair it is under reconstruction and might be better when the building work is finished but it is empahtically not a £100 per night hotel as it presently stands
It was good for the purpose I needed.
Location & standard of facilities, there was an element of a maze around finding rooms on the higher floors.
The refurbishment and rebranding has worked very well. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
Unfortunately, was delayed checking in due to a fire alarm and evacuation in adjacent Cornmill shopping centre which entailed evacuatiung hotel also - understandable in view of the major fire at hotel 4 years previously.
Very modern and comfortable. Good location for theatre and shops.
Layout is peculiar - had to use two lifts to get to room on third floor. Underground car park is not easy to spot but had been made aware of this so was prepared. Late night town centre noise from the street outside.
Everything was good bar staff new more training as it took 15 minutes to get a cocktail made ! Diabolical , but they were apologetic.
Extractor fans outside kept me awake all night even with the window closed,if i was to return it would on the condition that I had a quiet room no fans
the reading lights on either side of the bed only seemed to work if all the lights were on, so what was the point of reading lights? and the wifi signal was poor. it was also very warm, air con would have been nice as when the windows were open it was quite noisy, especially when the street cleaner came round!!!!! the shower was also peculiar in that the dial was the wrong way,i.e. turn it toward red it became cold, would have been nice to have been told this in advance!
I was put in a room that had not been refurbished since a fire 4 years ago. Not only this but I found bugs in my bed lots of them, after complaining I was moved to a newly furnished room however the bugs were in my hair! Worst experience ever and I had an important interview next day and didnt get any sleep.
Excellent location. Rooms were clean and tidy with tea and coffee facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Rooms looked a bit tired but are due for refurbishment.
I considered the hotel excellent value and well ru. My onky small problem was the absence of any soapin the bedroom. I would certainly recommend the hotel and would visit again should I need to stay in Darlington.
My only complaint is,as stated above, was the lack of soap
it was very comfotable and thre location was excellent for town.
aah everythng was fine
